The ex hibit will bo composed almost entirely of Illustrations of the Omaha method of teach ing geography In the fourth , flfth , sixth and eovonth grades , ft method devised .by Prin cipal Poarse , and , as far as Is known , fol lowed In no other city In the country. At any rate It has been most completely elab orated in the Omaha echools and most thor oughly tooted. It consists of the use of all sorts of material 'bearing on geographical subjects gathered by the pupils themeolves from all possible reliable sources. The nar row limits of a text ibook , far from confining the child's nlnd to its few bald and unat- trtuctlvo facts , serve only to suggest sub jects for individual investigation. The writers in the magazines who treat of geog raphy or natural history are eagerly sought out and their articles read in connection with the study of the countries of which they write. Illustrations are obtained from magazine articles and from railway adver tising publications , the latter of which fur- olah the best and most numerous pictures of natural scenery. These are incorporated Into essays upon certain localities and servo not only to fix in the pupil's mind the things ho should know , 'but also to excite him to an alertness and receptivity that only a real Interest cao give. The exhibit -will bo shipped the latter part of the week to Albany , where the achool ex hibits of the United States are being col- locUd and classified. The work from each city will easily be Identified when in place fojr conspicuous labuls. Snyn lie \Va Shot At. There are several other strong attractions , making up a most excellent program. The performance this evening will begin immediately after the Ak-Sar- Ben parado. There will bo a matinee on Saturday as usual. The performances at the Trocadero the ater are not started during the nights of the Ak-Snr-Bcn parades until after the lat ter have started toward the Den upon their homeward Journey. This gives those who wish to hear the Trocadero Opera company sing "GIrofle-Glrofla" nn opportunity to see the parades as well. On Tuesday and Wed nesday nights the performances started at 10 and were out at 12. On both evenings the theater was crowded almost to over flowing. To write a play of the south and the mountains of the south and not say a word about moonshiners , revenue officers , nnd whisky stills ; to play a southern drama without one character of northern birth In It , la so vary exceptional as to arouse curi osity. It don't seem possible , and yet David Hlgglns has done this and the play is a good ono in spite of these peculiarities. Indeed , It Is not out of the way to say that no bet ter southern play hoe been produced In the history of the stage than "At Piney Ridge. " It opens a three-night and Saturday matinee engagement at Boyd's theater tonight , the performance commencing after the Ak-Sar- Ben parade has passed.
