When William Scellg and his wife. v\hl
cave the name of Grace Nelson , were ar
rested on suspicion of huvlnc stolen $171
from John Klnc on Wednesday nlcht the ;
kei up a brave front and denied any knowl
edge of the robbery. Later on , however ,
ScellR became blue and wrote a letter "To
Whom it May Concern , " in "which ho set
forth that ho Intended to commit BUlcldu
and he hoped the finders would bo good to
his wife. He denied that cither 0110 knew
anything of the robbery of King and said
that some day they would discover that
both were Innocent. Captain Donahue bad
n conference with him , however , and talked
him out of ending hla life. Scellg tore up
the note , alter reading It to the captain ,
and returned to his cell , apparently III bet
