loads were cornfed steers and seven loads

to choice dry lot cattle was fully steady.
, grass steers w ere also steady. Some
good lleshy Texas sold at Jl 05 , whlcn was
the s.ime us was paid for the same kind
yesterday. In &ome cases holders of cattle
vicro not especially desirable complained
i
plained that the market was rather Blow.
However , most everything changed hands
in good reason and at prices that as a rule
were fcatlsfactory to the sellers.
Good dry lot cows and heifers were In
good demand at about steady prices , but
there were only a few hero. Common grass
cows were slow and way lower. Packers
claim that they have not been killing out
satisfactorily and that they are too high.
It is hard work to say Just how much lower
no market was today , but It is safe to say
that they have taken off 25Jf.50c since last
week. The fact that grass cows are becom
ing more plentiful has helped bujers to get
the market down. Other kinds of butchers-
stock did not show any material change.
Most of the bulls coming at the present
time are feeder or stock bulls , which arc
In pretty fair demand at steady prices It
la noted that some of the buyers discrimi
nate in fuvor of the dehorned bul's Veal
calves sold at the same prices as jesterday
or BOc lower than last week.
Stockera and feeders were rather slow
sale. Some operators claim that the coun
try demand shown slgna of Improvement ,
but others say that it Is hard for a man
to see it with the nuked eye. Values today
did not show any material change and the
market was without new feature of Im
portance. Representative sales :

HOas Sellers got the worst of It today ,

The llrbt sales were largely at $120 , with
a tl 2-5 top. At the same time Home of the
heaviest packers were holding off and bid
ding In many coses only J4 15. Sellers in
most Instances were unwilling 1o make the
concession demanded nnd the result was a
alow and draggy market , with buyers nnd
flellers apart In their vl wa Gradually the
liogs went toward the ncales at Jl 17WM 20 ,
mostly , but the movement was slow ull the
morning and U was late nefore anything
Ilko a clearance was effected The clos
was very dull and weak at the decline.
