CATTLH Today's trade In cattle could be
summed up In a very few words , It was a
good , . < trongand active market andveryIhlng
mMghtchanged hands in a very short lime.
( U'ler tlie market opened. Packers al'
wanted cattle and the prices paid were fully
as good as last week , the decline the early
part of the present week having all been
made nsi , and In some cases more than
made \f' . Si'llers were well pleased with
the pi-lies paid and in some case * were callIng -
Ing tliPin consldcrab'.y higher. One bunch
of good , fal , branded westerns sold at ? S.10.
Cows and heifcr.s were in active demiind
and sold readily at good , strong prices , so
that the pens were cleared in a very few
mlnules. There was no change in tire bull
market.
Yesterday speculative holdings of stockers
and feeders were pretty well cleaned up , and
today most everyone wa ready to buy , so
that the market on that kind of cattle was
also In fair condition. Everything of any
account In first hands sold early" and the
trade came to u standFUl' In a very short
time for the want of more cattle to sell.
'I he country demand , however , was not
very brisk , and down in the- feeder division
speculator.- ) reported the trade as slow.
