There Is a better fQellng In the wool trade

control less than one-half of the machinery

It Is acknowledged generally that the bulk
of goods consumed will continue to be
purchased ns It has Iwcn. There Is more

CATTLE The market on beef steers was
again lower today , salesmen In most catts
quoting It BlilOe off from yey.erday. For
thu weuk It Is safe to qoute It 20lf2oc lower.
The decline won duo to the break In east
ern markets , which htivo been berne down
by the largo run * and rather dull market
101- the product. The movement was rather
slow owing to the leluelance of sellers to
inako any concession from yesterday's
pr.ccs , and for that reason It wns late be
fore buyers and sellers could come together
on si trading ba. ls , and still Inter before
a clearance was effected. However , buyers
evidently wanted the cattle and in the end
they cleared up everything.
Cows and heifer ? , owing to the scarcity
of the demand , sold at just about steady
prices. There has , In fact , been very little
change In the market this week on butch
ers stock of any kind. Bulls' stags and
calves brought Just steady prices.
There was not much change In the mar
ket for stock cattle , ns there were very
few In sight. The market on feeders would
naturally feel the break In beef steers , but
thorn are so few cattle of that description
comlnir forward that there has been very
llttlo change In values. Kcpresentatlvc
