CATT E Today's receipts looked very
small ns compared with one , two nnd three
weeks ago. Of the cattle here twenty-one
loads wore consigned direct to packers und
were not offered on the market at all. The
number of cattle actuxllj on sale was
therefore very small. The fee-ling on the
market was greatly improved and operators
are beginning to talk that if shippers to ail
the mailcets of the country will only use
good Judgment in withholding supplies for
a few days the market will soon get back
Itt > lost sttenirth
Buyers were out reasonably early this
morning with the evident Intention of do
ing b'usliicBS and they bought up about all
the cornfed steerb in good season and at
prices that were a little stronger than
prevailed yesterday. Salesmen found it a
good deal easier to get the price than
yesteiday and the general cone to the
maiKtt was more satisfactory than for
several days pabt. There was nothing very
choice among the offerings , so that tne top
did not show up so very well.
Cows and helieis weie ulwj In good de
mand and the market strong ns compared
with yesterday. The movement was fairly
active , and as there were only a few here
the buyeis weie not long In effecting a
clearance Bulls also sold at good , steady
to strong prices
There was not much change in the stocker
and feeder tiade. Desirable thin cattle that
had had no corn were scarce and feeder
buyers had to content themselves mostly
with waimcd-up stuff. Representative
