the continent between John 8. Vosburg and
his wlfo. Kate , resulted today In a compro
mise decision by D. 13. Petit , the refcroa
appointed to adjust the difficulty between
man und wlfo. U appears that last spring
Mr. Vosburg became angry at liU father-in-
law. J. S. Slauson , the Loa Angolcs bunker ,
and left lila borne , taking two of hla three
boys with him. Ho settled near hla old home
In this state and a short time ago returned
to Los Angeles to make efforts to Induce his
wlfo to live with him and away from her
father's Influence. Mrs. Vosburg took ad
vantage of Vosburg's presence In California ,
by taking the flrst train with her father for
the east with the apparent purpose of secur
ing her two boys. Vosburg got wind of her
departure and followed twenty-four bourn
later , first telegraphing bis relatives to take
care of the boys. When Mrs. Voabure ar
rived hero eho procured a writ of habeas
corpus and the boys were produced In court. ,
Testimony was presented on both sides with
a view to showing which was the proper cus
todian of the children. The referee finds
that neither the father nor mother Is mor
ally bad and gives the oldest boy to the
father and youngest to the mother.
