The advisability of putting a missionary Into the etato field for the purpoio ot In * forming the public regarding the purpose * of the organization was considered and such action will probably bo taken. It was aluo determined to hold a grove meeting of the spiritualists of the Btato some tlmo in th near future. The association IB at present not distinguished by any declaration of principles and a number ot delegates believed that such a statement should bo drawn up both for their own satisfaction and for general - oral Information. A delegate was appointed to the national association with Instructions to work for a declaration of that sort along non-denominational lines. At the evening session P. 8. Gillette spoke on the duties of spiritualists to society , showing that they should turn their atten tion more to practical things and endeavor to show the superiority of their teaching * by the purity ot their lives. Ho urged that general principles of morality should be fol lowed without respect ) to creeds. An address folrowed by Dr. Naddlng , who spoke ot the effect of wrongdoing upon the spiritual life. Ho said that the soul de basement resulting from sin would bo a permanent condition and that after tha change ot deat'h the mark would still be tbcro , It wai his opinion that man does not need a savior other than his own ef fort. The steamship Glou cester ot the Merchants' and Miners' Trans portation company , which arrived hero this forenoon from Baltimore , reports that at 130 o'clock this morning It collided with the Gloucester schooner Alice Jordan oft Mar tha's Vineyard and that nine of tbo crew vrero saved and brought hero on the Glou cester ,
