NEW YOI1FC , July 20.-The signIficant net
changes In most stocks are a fair indlca-
Lion of the neglected condition of the day's
market. The prospects of early pence with
Spain , the assurance of cheap money and
the already secured crops are not stufilcient
to induce buyers to take stocks. holders
crc equally averse to selling at tim existing

Such a market naturally invites nggres-

to make any notable Impression on the general -

olul wheat show them to lie at a very low
ebb , but iwices abroad reileet the conviction
of an abundant new crop from foreign

The dullness of today's stock market
varied only by the manipulative movements
of ( ho industrial specinltles , particularly the
Itubber stocks , Sugar , irookiyn Transit ,

Today's rclipts of stock were 153 cars , as

Ho far this week the receipts of cattle- have

corresponding Jays of lit week , but there
has been a fulling off in hog receipts.
CATTLE-The receipts of cattle , as will
bo noted from the table of recc'ilts gien
above , wore somewhat larger today than
yesterday , but out. of the number of cars
reported in ( litre was a train direct to
packers , so that actual offerIngs vere far

There was a goqd top on the cornfed
cattle today , one bunch of Ilerefonds selling -
ing up to $5.40 , the highest price 3laii to
date. There were others gooti enough to
brIng $500415.25 , with quite a. sprinkling of
niedium quality stuff. 'rIta market on good
dry lot cattle was active and fully gteady ,
the ollerings clnuiging hands very rcadll.
The medium cattle were not quite so brisk
as the better grailes , but still they sold
about the same as yesterday. Common
and grassy stuff , as 'ns noteti yesterday ,
was Inclined to drag. with ( lie feelIng weak.
W'citerfls did not tnove off quIte as freely
as good dry lot cattle , but still the deniatlil
was good and tIm market was not quotably
changed from yesterday.
Butchers' stock was in light supply and
the eight or ten loads of cows and heifers
on sale s'ero nlostly all grassers. The ile-
mand was of liberal proportions and the
offerings brought steady prices.
