cA'rTLE-The offerings of cattle were
small today , AbI told there were 115 curs ,
but of that number ten or twelve loads
were consigned direct to packers and were
not offered for sale at all. Of he balance
a considerable proportion consisted of
stockers and feeders , so that tile number
of good killIng cattle available ivns 'ery
small for the second day of the week. As
the local packing Itouses were all running
this morning , the buyers were anxious for
supplies of beef cattle amid they were all
out early. The market opened active and
strong and practically everything in sight
sold early. There were some itretty decent
cattle hera which brought $5 or better ,
With a large proportion of corn-feds selbing
at 13,70433.90.
The supply of butchers' stock consisted of
sbmo ( cii or a dozen loads of cows and
helfors , mostly weslern grassers. The market -
ket was fully steady or even strong and
the offerings nero all taken In good sea-
son.
ha the feeder division the situation was
decidedly ngaiilst the selling interests. The
fresh receipts were large and in addition
there were quite a good many which were
carried over from yesterday , so that there
were more cattle of that description In the
yards than for some time back. Yester-
day's market was lower on all but the best
and the feeling at tile close very 'weak.
