As compircd wlt'n a week ago thuto , nna a piln of between llfty and I\ty cirs , but a falling olt of between sltty and sev enty cars as compared \\Ith the record breaking run of two weeks ago. The gain today was lanjely In hogs , there being only an ordinary run of cattle. CATTLU There was Just a fair run of cattlt * Ser a Tuesday , the number on salu being about thp K.ime us n week ago , but smaller th.in two weeks ago , w'nen there was an unusually hea\y inn. The most of the cuttle In the jardsveiu corn fed beeves and thcru was quite a sprinkling Cf right desirable steers/ / both lieavy and light The jencral condition of the market was somowliat Improved over what It his been the past few days , that Is theie waa a bet ter feeling all round and to that extent the trade was far moie satisfactory to t'nu belling Interests. The shippers as well as locil packers were buyers of beef steers and when the trade was once under way the movement -was fairly active , at least active to whit It has been on most days the past week. Handy little cattle such as ha\e been in demand all t'ne time were the best sellers and It would be nafo to quote the market on that Kind as stronger. Heavy cattle when well llnlshed and smooth were also fair sellers IIc. fully steady prices , but coarse , heavy cattle were none too active. The most of the fat cattle changed hands In good sea son nnd operators were generally summing siSI t'ne day's trading as a good steady to strong market. SIt Cows and heifers were In larger supply than ! for several days past , about twenty i loads. In round numbers , being on sale. The market was devoid of uny especially new features. < The demand appealed to be of liberal proportions and about on a par with the receipts , so that just about steady prices prevailed and most everything sold { In | Rood season. Stackers and feeders did not show any material change. The demand was fair , but as usual of late of rather modest proper tions. No one looks for much change In feeders so long as the beet market remains In the present condition , and while money continues so close. There Is , however , a small demand all the time which , as the receipts are very light. Just about keeps the supply cleaned up. Representative sales : STKKIIS. No , Av. Pr. No. Av. Pr. No. Av.
