Everything was nt least steady and most kinds of stock were strong , lluy- era seemed to feel conlldenco In the situa tion and they operated freely with the re sult that everything In tiio yards changed ownership early in the day. CATTLK Receipts of cattle were qulio liberal for a Monday , there being a gain of COO head over a week ago and 1,000 over two weeks ago. A Very large proportion of all the cattle here consisted of corn fed beeves with about the usual sprinkling of butchers stock and feeders. The market as a whole was steady to strong and ut the same time quite active. Ueef Steers TJie quality of cornfcd cat tle on sale was something of an Improve ment over n goad many days of recent date. Whether the quality of the offerings hud anything to do with It or not , the tone of the market was greatly Improved. Sellers on a peed many days have had good reason to complain of the lack of snap , and the Indifference of buyers , which has ren dered the market unsatisfactory even when prices were all right. Today all cause for complaint on that score was absent as the market was full of life and Interest. The shippers in addition to the local packers , were free buyers , and the yards were soon cleared. The best cuttle commanded strong prices and others fully steady prices. There were some cuttle hero good enough to bring $1.75.Hutchers Hutchers Stock There were In the neigh borhood of llfteen loads of cows nnd heifers In the yards. The market was reasonably active and the pens were soon cleared at steady prices. There were quite a number of stockers nnd feeders in the yards , a considerable pro portion of them westerns. The country 'de mand ns usual on a Monday morning was not very brisk , but speculators were quite good buyers and the most of the cattle changed hands early at good strong prices.
