CATTLE The duy's supply of cattle con
sisted of about 100 cars ot all kltuls , there
'bclnir ' n crcttt plenty of most cverythuiK
except good slnll' . About half ot thu re
ceipts consisted of corn-fed beeves , the bal
ance being made up of butchers' stocU ,
feeders and odds unil ends.
As was tne case yesterday , fat cattle
were In liberal rei-elpt , but goo : ! oattlu
were scjrce , a consldcrnnin proportion of
the receipts consisting of common and tin-
llnlshed stuff. ' 1 h ? market opened about
steady , that is , buyers went through the
yards and selected whatever was best cal
culated to meet their requirements , paying
yesterday's prices for sui-h lots. The nt.ir-
ket , however , was very slow , and t'.iu ' ten
dency was easier with common kinds weak
to lOc lower. The chief feature ot weakness
appeared to be the unfavoiable advices
i from other selling points , everything but
the best selling lUc lower at Chicago.
The market on butchers' stock was slow
und weak. The offerings were liberal , about
a quarter of lhe recelpts consisting of cows
and heifers , and nt the same time other
markets came lower. The .buyers ( lid not
appear at all anxious for supplies and the
trade was u drag from start to llnlsh. In
file end , however , the offerings were all
taken nnd prices' a rtup were npt much
different fiom yesterday , though the ten
dency was lower.
Stockers , and feeders were In very light
supply , very little aside from odds and
ends being offered on the market. With
