The demand was of very moderate proportions
tions , and not sufficiently pronounced to
bring about any stiffening in values , so f-at
killing cattle , both steers and cows , did not
bring any more 'money than yesterday in
spite of the light run. Another reason for
the marliet showinR no strength -was to be
found in the. fact that Chicago was rcpori-
ing all but the best kinds of cattle slow.
While the market could not be called active
there were so few here that the yards were
cleared In good season.
The trade in stockers und feeders was
without feature of Interest , very few loads
