cattle that were here yesterday brought lOo
more than yesterday. The most of the cattle
nvere only ordinary and the market was
entirely devoid of choice stuff. While the
market was not remarkably active , there
were so few cattle hero that the yards
were practically cleared In good season.
Speaking of common cattle. It Is remarked
that shippers do not fully appreciate how
good the. so-called common cattle are this
season. With corn in the country plenty
nnd cheap , the average , of nil the cattle
comlnir to market Is much higher than In
many years and for that reason cattle arc
now classed as common by the buyers that
would be considered Quito fair in years
when feed is scarce.
Today's market on cow stuff was also In
very fair shape and desirable kinds were a
little stronger , -with others steady. Some
cholne little helfera sold at $3.C5. The de
mand iiras good and the offerings were not
long In finding takers.
In the feeder division the trade was slow
and weak. Buyers seem to feel that they
hnvo been paying too much for feeders und
stock cattle In proportion to fat catllo. In
fact the break In beef cattle has made buy
ers of feeders feel rather panicky and they
can hardly he expected to buy freely until
there Is good evidence that the decline Is of
