This wna one of the- days that the open

Thcru was some suspicion at the start thnt
the Liverpool market was being manipu

acted again to OSTfcc. For moro than an
hour the buying Induced by the strength
nt Liverpool was siilllclunt to maintain the
price nt or above the opening figures. The
JCngllHh market kept gaining till Its close ,
when It had reached from : ) ld to Hid 1m-

market had no support near the end and the
price finally dropped to 02c. December wan

Corn was uncompromisingly heavy. The
frosts reported had no Inlltiencc In stemming
the bearish current , and the price after the
Ilrst few minutes kept on a steady decline.
Tie Continued heavy receipts are at length

O.Us wai very slow and Weak , Influenced
by the cnrn nnd wheat decline. Lack ol
speculation was also a weakening factor , A
goo 1 cash demand existed early In the day ,

that gold shipments will be first made to New

such shipments have been arranged. I nm told
