At first the girl consented to go with him , but when the time set for their departure arrived the girl changed her mind and refused to go. During his stay here Holtz hid In a bun on the outskirts ot the town. Ho communicated with the girl through two "friends , " residents of Waterloo. After the girl refined to fly with him Holtz contracted with another citizen of Waterloo to haul him ( Holtz ) oveiDand to Lincoln.
