CATTLK There was another big run , 172
cars , but , with ono train direct to the kill
ers , there were not so many fresh cattle on
sale by fully 1,700 head. Western rangers ,
mostly feeders and cows , again made up the
bulk of the supply and them was a large
proportion of Indifferent gr.-.oes. Fat cattle
were not very mimi-rou.s tinu were nbout the
only kind that did not show weakness.
The supply of fed beef was limited and
Included nothing choice , the best here sellIng -

local houses and prices ruled llrm , n slmde
better than yesterday In some Instances.
Western offerings were largc'.y on the feeder
order , but such ns were desirable for
HlaiiEhter sold unite readily to the dressed
beef men at about yesterday's Ilgnrcs nnd
were not long In changing hands. The mar

condition and values were well sustained.
Cows and heifers were lower again , accordIng -
Ing to most salesmen , while buyers quoted a
good steady imrket. There were about
twenty loads on sale and. grass stock made
up the bulk of the supply. The movement
was slow at any rate and prices looked a
little lower on paper. Dulls and stags fold
Just about steady and veals were In good
request at late good figures.
There was some diversity oT opinion as
to the feeder market , but a decline was
most often quoted Even good grades were
often called a dime lowor. The. supply was
large and speculators hart quite a number
on hand , but were good buyers at the
we-aker prevailing prices. Country buyers
were also numerous and did a large amount
of business. Hcprescntntlvo sales :
