Is active with many : buyers present In liotb
the first hand aitd Jobbing murkettt. The tone
was llrm on all cotton lines , several advances
having been announced In the last twenty-four
hours. Sellers arc- less willing to deviate from
newly established prices and as buyers , after
some parley , generally1 take goods , the condi
tions aie quite satisfactory nnd hopeful. The
export demand shows a slight Increase In spite
of an advancing 'market. This Is considered u
good feature. Woolen goods of all sorts are
doing well. Staple cottons are llrm nnd selling
freely. Fruit of tbe Loom , 4-4 and 7-8 , bleached ,
are again nt value. This Is not surprising as
the price has been belqw that of L-msdalc since
the recent advances nnd a general adjustment
was deemed Inevitable from the llrst. Coarse
colored cottons are. well sustained nnd strong
at the recent advance In all grades. Print
cloths have registered another advance , 211-lCc
being paid for abuut 12,000 pieces extras , October
and November delivery' late yesterday morning.
The market today. Is very strong with bids scarce
