Seme very good natives , and the best western range heifers of the season to date were Included. Lower and dull was again quotable of the fat cattle trade , but In other branches steady prices prevailed. Buyers of fat cattle seemed to be on easy street and uniformly bid lower prices on about all grades of fat stock except , per haps , a few handy little steers. Many dealers called today's bids a quarter below the week's high point and buyers did not appear very anxious even at the decline , claiming that they were steadily losing money and that we were srtill out of line with other places. There was no snap in the trade at any time , and at Its close there were still good cattle in first hands. The western offerings were mostly feeders and sold to go back to the country. Good cows and heifers firm with other ? steady was the general report for this branch of the cattle market today. Bulls and -stags were also steady and veals firm , the market for all kinds of butchers' stock closing up In good shape. Sales Included western heifers at 33 o. Stockcr and feeder speculators generally try "to" cHeapen Up a little on Saturday tc help. pay for- carrying their purchases over Sunday , but there was only a moderate sup ply offered , while the outside inquiry was larger than usual for the last day of the week.
