CATTLE There was a. liberal run ot cat
tle again today , though the receipts were
less than yesterday by lorty-ilve cars. Al
lowing for the cattle that were shipped di
rect to the packers thijre rrrre less than a
hundred earn , all told , " on sale.
The market as a whole was In very satlE1-
factory condition so far as the selling Inter
ests were concerned. Cattle are selling very
high here as compared with other market ! ?
und buyers complain that they are paying
too much. Still they want the c- ; : ' , < and so
long n H thu demand \ fully equal to , or In
excess ot thu supoly , It Is not easy to pound
prices.
This morning advlceH from other soiling
points Indicated n-break lit values and that
fact In connection with the very high prices
paid hero yesterday would have been suffi
cient under ordinary circumstances to have
brought about u decline at this point. It did
not. however , have much effect upon the
market. All desirable beef cattle sold Just
obout at' well a'S 'yesterday , tint tne feeling
was a little easier on the common und me
dium grades ot beef cattle. The market
seemed u little slow to open and yet most
everything sold early , the best cattle bring
ing $4.COfrl.72V- ! .
Utitchers' stock , as l the case on most
days , was In moderate supply , and the offer
ings consisted entirely ot grasrers. The mar
ket was active under the Inllucncc of a good
demand and everything changed hands
early In the forenoon.
Yesterday there were a good many feed
ers ) here , but the demand was very large and
last night almost everytnlng In the way of
feeders In the yards was shipped out Into
the country. The fresh receipts this morn
ing 'were ' not large and the demand was rea-
sanably good , but at the same time there
was a feeling that prices have been pretty
high and that had a tendency to make the
market a little lower. Representative sales ;
