prolraeted strufiKlu It recovered to Xlvio
on a report of continued unfavorable
wmther In Argentina. The closing cable ,
however , showed most of the Llvcipool
advance lost ; Paris a shade lower for
wheat , although a trlllo higher for flfiur ;
Herlln ' ,4 mark lower , and Antwerp un
changed. The demand In the cash market
was slack and only 12,000 bti. of spring
were repotted sold for rail shipment to
country millers. The market became once
more exceedingly weak near the close and
got down once more to Sic. The closing
prlco was from Slo to Sl',4c.
Corn was dull , featureless and unworthy
of extended rcmntk. Its general tendency
was sluggishly downward. .May opened un
changed ut Si'fce , which was the highest
price for the day. It declined to CTic.
and that was the bid price at the close.
The weakness of wheat and rather liberal
receipts were the Influences , although the
last was somewhat neutralized by the
small intimate for tomorrow.
Oals were weak for the greater part of
the session. The heavy receipts today-
Mi cars caused free belling , and a limited
demand augmented the wnikiiesH. Toward
the close a little Improvement took place.
Influenced partially perhaps by linul-
Btreef.s report showing a visible decrease
of ril'i.OOO bu. May openul unchanged at
SWjc. di'cllncd to KOUic , and sold at from
20-U.e to 20'4e at thu close.
Trading In provisions was very dull and
consisted mostly In changing contracts
over from January to May. Yard prices
were lower and larger receipts were ex
pected tomorrow , both of which factH
helped to push provision prices down
ward. After the opening decline- , however ,
the market held comparatively steady.

CATTLE There was n very fair run of
cattle here today , the receipts footing up
3,290 na against 3,103 yesterday and 2,700 a
week ago. Not only were tin- receipts lib
eral , but the cuttle were better and there
were more of them. The market as a
whole was In very satisfactory condition ,
the demand being good , and the cattle all
changed hands In good season.
The offerings of beef stecra consisted al
most entirely of cornfcd natives , and while
u considerable many of thorn wore- not
overly good , there were some right good
and well finished cattle. Ono bunch was
good enough to sell up to T-.00. The mar
ket was active and the prices paid were
Just about the same as prevulieu yesterday.
Uutchers' stock was fairly active and
everything that could bo considered nt all
desirable sold early and at Just about
steady prices.
The market on stackers and feeders con
tinues In a very healthy condition. The
country demand Is sufficiently large to
absorb everything received , which keeps
prices up and renders the market active.
The cattle today sold freely and nt prices
that were certainly no lower. Ilcpresenta-
