CHICAGO. Oct. ] . The wheat pit today
was again a scene of wild excitement
matkcd by an advance In the price of De
cember to a point 2Vi cents above the final
llguriM of yesterday's session. This nd-
vance wns not nil held by any means , for
bli ; traders , whoso persistency In holding
on to their lines has been partially Instru
mental In the recent rise , took advantage
of the exalted prices to earn an honest
dollar by dumping some ot their holdings
on the market. The aggregate day's busi
ness was enormous. Not only were all the
local brokers heavy Investors , but outside
speculation wns much more prominent than
usual. The reason for the bulge can be
told In two words foreign news. It was
not the higher prices quoted at Liverpool
and on the continent , but the reports of
wheat engagements for shipment to India
from Liverpool , u hitherto unheard of trans
action.
Reports of similar engagements from San
FranclHCO were confirmed and lent force to
the statements that the Indian crop was a
failure , . Not all the Interest , however , was
centered In wheat. The corn and provision
pits were Jammed with excited speculatois
all day. An enormous foreign business was
done In corn , and prominent packers , In tryIng -
Ing to cover some of their lines of provisions-
cxpprlnnced surprising difficulty in doing
so. The close showed substantial advances
all around.

one day.
You can't ' make any more
out of them by the clock.
But wise women , pro
gressive women , can make
each day worth twice as
much to them , Just by
using Pearline. It isn't
on wash-day only that
Pearline ( nou ap ) saves
your time , and shortens and
lightens your labor , and lets
you do other and better things ,
It's ' every day , and in all the scrub
bing- and scouring- and cleaning- that makes hard work about
a house. Pearline is woman's labor-saver. It takes away
that ruinous , tedious , tiresome rubbing.
