W * ro westerns.
The offerings of cattle suitable for the
dressed beef trade were light. There were ,
however , more cornfed cattle than yester
day , there beluga dor.cn loads Tir more , but
there were practically no westerns Rood
iMiotiRh for the klllqrs. The demand was
good and the few cattle on sale noon
chanted hands at about steady prices.
The best cornfed beeves were strong. One
bunch of very choice cornfed cattle sold
tip to $1.20 , the best price paid In some
time.
Twelve or fourteen loads of cows and
heifers were offered on the market , but
the most of them were of poor quality.
The market in consequence was rather
slow , but In the end everything was sold.
One bunch of five lomlH sold to go Into the
country on feed at $2.25.
There were .plenty .of stockers and feed
ers on sale. Good Cilttle welching about
SOO or S..0 pounds are. In good demand and
the market on that klrid was fully steady.
The general run ot western feeders , how
ever , especially the IiPavy cattle , was a
little easier again 'today. The demand
keeps up pretty well and the most of the
cattle In first hai.ijls sold in fair season.

The market was In very Imil s'.inpe for the
Fulling Interests. The financial situation In the

Under such conditions It WUB not surprising
that the market on hogs showed u decline. The

'i ' tmco W liu-li inch f
The pus ! week has been cool , the tern-
peratuit * being below the normal on all
except the llrst two days of the Week and
averaging between two and three degrees
below the normal. The dally maximum
temperatures have been generally below
! > 0 except on the llrst two days , when they
exceeded ! K ) and In some places 100.
The rainfall has been light except in
the southeastern corner of the state , where
two or three Inches fell. More than half
an Inch fell over a considerable portion of
the southeastern and northwesU'ni sec
tions , while In the remainder of the state
the rainfall was gcncially less than n
quarter of an Inch and In some localities
no measurable amount fell.
The harvest of small grain has been
pushed and Is now well advanced In most
portions of thu state. Thrashing Is be
ing commenced quite generally. Winter
wheat Is yielding well , but oats ana light
crop and quality is poor , being very light
weight. Hay Is n good crop and a large
portion has been secured In excellent con
dition.
Corn has made good growth In most portions
tions of the state and continues in very
promising condition except In extreme
western counties where the early planled
has been Injured by drouth and rain Is now
urgently needed. While corn has not suf
fered over the stale generally It would
grow better In most portions with more
rnln as the ground Is getting somewhat
dry. In the region ot heavy rainfall the
past week thti coin Is In remarkably
promising condition.
