vide that all the expenses of all trials prior
to preliminary or conditional acceptance

sel of the latter kind may l > o examined at
thn Hureau of Construction and Repair ,
and plans of the machinery of such a ves
sel may ho had on application to the Hureau
of Steam EnKliu-erliiK ; the twenty knot
boats will bo built In accordance with the
bidder's plans and specifications or with
those prepared by thn department as the
Secretary of the Navy may deem most ad
vantageous , all subject to the conditions
slated In the "Circular ilcllnlni ; the chief
characteristics of thrco thirty knot torpedo
boats and other torpedo boats for the U.
S. Navy , " approved by the Secretary of the
Navy on the 17th day of Juno , ISM. Copies
of this circular can be obtained on appli
cation to thn Hureati of Construction and

appropriate to the annual assemblage of the

afternoon at the Catholic club. A ladles'
auxiliary convention Is In progress In the
Cowlo building. A number of Important

eral amendments to the constitution. The
