county , Kansas In 1S59 , nnd. who suddenly

abtut $5,000 , returned to Kansas City today

10,000. Mr. Hoggs Is a son of L. W. Hoggs ,
vho was governor of the state of Missouri

cavalry. He never communicated with hie

suppose that he Is dead. He never Knew
vital became of hisson. . Mr. Hoggs' resl-
lence Is now at Montrose , Colo. He returned
to Kansas City solely In order to make good
rls fihortage. Incurred while acting as tax
collector of Wyjndotte county In 1S59. Mr.
Jnggs called upon General Jo Shelby to
day , and asked him to assist him tn making
arrangements for the settlement of his short
age. He said :

Colorado to settle this Indebtedness. I ab-
