Two cf the strongest objection to the liquor traffic are that It denies th homo and corrupts the political life of th uatlon. For every foreign missionary whlcl England sends out , according to Archdeacon Jeffreys , she sends 70,000 gallons cf rum to tlio sam ? foreign field. For every convert drink claims 1,000 victims. National prohlbl tlon , he said , Is the only logical solution of th problem. It Is not enough to have the sal cf liquor prohibited In a single city or state the national government and Its courts shouh unlto In putting an end to th ; traffic , ant then Intemperance , with all Its train of evl consequences , will have to go.
