In provisions prices closed a trifle lower.
The latter Improved somewhat on buying ,
which wns nccrlbed to the packer * . The
news concerning whcnt was In ths main
bullish. The domnnd here for ennh wheat
was Booil. both for rail shipment to wlntei
wheat points mid for prliiB wheat to KO to

was not quite so pronounced ns It wns
yesterday afternoon. The Cincinnati Price

the winter whcnt plant , snld that the
weather wag somewhat trying and inatij
sections were lacking In pnow protection
Minneapolis nnd pulutli Rot iCD car loads
leas wheat than on thu corresponding daj
of the week before. The laku shipments
appeared to be over for the season ! today's
outKoltiR nil went by rnll , and such was the
case also regarding the shipments pouted
yesterday and on the dny before. For
the three days the quantity shipped by rail
umountti to 2 i,00i bu. , and on the similar
thrie dnyH of the previous year the quan

Thu corn market preserved Its consistency
by behiK u dull nnd heavy toned as It
has been for no many days' . Speculative
Inquiry reBardlnj- the article appears to
have almost entirely disappeared. Trices
remained almost stationary , and closed un
changed from last night , or n shade lower.
There wns n fairly active market for outs ,
but business ) wns considerably duller than
yesterday. ' A Rood demand existed for
May nt IS ic from big shorts , and snlcs
were rendlly brought about when sellers
offered nt that price. The market was
pllKhtly tinner early , but at the close Just
steady on futures. December sold at l7'/4c ,
which Is % c up fiom yesterday , apparently
a natural narrowing of the difference around
the middle of the month.
I'rovlHlons were llrmer and appeared to-
bo receiving the support of the packers.
The result of the dny'B trading was an
