The posse which went In pursuit of the escaped Christian brothers are coming In ono by one chagrined over their failure to capture the Illusive murderers. The trail of Bob Chris tian , who was shot In the neck , was found on the bank of the North Canadian river four miles east of this city. Marks or the bank Indicate where he entered the river , but a careful scrutiny of the bank for several miles below the point shows no place where he came out , and the prevailing belief Is that owing to his weakened state from lo-s of blood and the high stage of the river , whleh Is a boiling torrent he was drowned Olicers nro hot on the trail of Bill Christian and It Is only n question of hours until he is brought back to dangle nt the end of a rope He is a desperate character , however , thoroughly armed , and It is very probable- that more bloodshed will ensue before he Is capture 1 The wcipons which the prisoners hal ob talned were supplied by confederates on the outside nnd secreted over the celling of the Jail corridor , from where they were taken at an opportune time and so effectively used Gils White , who was shot In the abdomen , lies In a critical condition and is not expected to recover.
