New Vork reported six bo.it loads taken thnic nnd olaewhoro for forflgn shipment yesterday , nnd claimed lo bo worl.lng moro today , but no great enthusi asm among buyers was obsetvnblc for some tlmo after the export business bad been made known to everybody. The first trad ing nt the opening was at from Tl'.ic ' to 71',4C , nt which prices the offerings wen- light. The shorts seemed Eutlalled to buy In their wheat ut the opening figure , nnd It was due almost entirely lo their effort ? to do so that n quick raise to "iXlte took place. Following that It had n break to 71c , nnd then rope again to 72c under the Influence of the export business. The gen eral tenor of the market news was In favor of nn advance , about the only bearish fea tures being the continued good leports of the spring wheat region and the readiness with which the European markets respond to n decline here. The Minneapolis and Duluth receipts wetc 140 car * , against Nil cars last year and KW cars on the corresponding spending day of 1653. Chicago received twenty-one cars , Including nine from Irreg ular city houtcs. St. Louis reiwrted sales of wheat nt considerably over the July price for shipment to polnls In Tennessee and Missouri , nnd In Ihose slates rains were Interfering with thu hill-vent. U ruined yes terday In southern Indiana , Tcnneif-ee , Ken tucky , Ohio nnd Missouri , and a generally rainy condition was noted thioughout the Ohio valley. The export clearances of Hour anil wheat from the Atlantic ports equaled 250,1100 bu. of wheat , of which 131.W.K ) bu. was In the shape of wheat. Anything over 72c for July brought out enough celling orders to keep It under thai figure during the greater part of the day , and similarly nt under 7Uic were waiting buyingorders. . The laller wcro mote numetous , and at the end the market took on a titrong appear ance. The fellers at 7"c were afforded an opportunity lo sell at that as the session was Hearing Its end , and there were buy ers nt "Hie ns the bell lapped. Corn was moderately active , futures un steady , but In the main llrni. The receipts were again light , the amount Inspected Into slore being 'M carp. St. Louis reported 45,000 bu. sold for export there. In the last ten days 400,000 bu. were sold In New York for shipment to Mexico nnd the West In dies , according to advices from New York. July was sold at 49c at the opening , and as high as 49-ic ) a few minutes later , after which It told ns low ns 48T c , then up to 49V4o nnd closed ot 49Uc. Onts wcro even more quiet than yester day. The entire business of the day was confined lo a few local trades. Fluctuations were narrow and Influenced entirely by wheat and corn , opening about steady , ad vancing1 n trllle and resting Just where they closed yesterday , September from Sc nnd 2SMc to 23c , nnd ended at 28'ic. Some one Instigated a raid on provisions during the day.
