bold under the inspiration wielded by the
preacher that scarce a sound or move was

Mrs. Slnven was not In a position to accept.
She attempted to persuade him to give the

NEW YORK , Feb. 25.-The great majority
of the New York bIdders for
bidder the new 4 per
cent government bonds are very much dl8p-
pointed at the result of the allotments made
by the Delmont.Morgn 8)'ndlcate. Few I
any of the applicants , It Is said , receh'e
more than 6 per cent of their bonds , many
not more than 10 per cent , and n large number -
her received notice to this effect : "Wo re-
gre to MY that owing 10 the amount of ap-
plcatons for United Stales 4 per cent bonds
under our circular WI have ben unable to
allot any bonds under your application. "
This was signed by Belmont & Co. and
Morgan & Co. I Is alleged no bonds were
nlote to Wal street brokers , who might
want them for speculation. The syndicate
has decided to withhold all information lS
to the amounts aml-thererore the facts or the
case can only be obtained by plee meal from
the would'bo ubscrlbers. I Is generally accepted -
ceptNI that those who crered gold In pay-
ment for bonds received most considerationn .
There Is a prevailing impression that a large
percentgo of the bonds were allotted abroad
and that home bidders
bIdder were rcrlfcell to
foreigners for the reason that It II to the interest -
terest at the syndicate thaI gold ehll be
brought frem outside the United States. The
syndicate today deposited ,300,000 gold In
