morning thin full strength of the Twenty-

the road to Flntbush avenue. At 1 o'clocle

end to a riot which had broken out there.
Abut eighty persons colected at this poInt

there. ' The mob continued Increasing until
noon , when a steno was hurled by one of
the crowd . strIking I imoiicenman. This was
followed by several others and then time

rescue the prisoners. AYter n desperate con-
filet , during which more stones were thrown
and blows struck on both sl < es. the three
slrl throwers were loclled up
Al Twenteth street and Ninth avenue the
strikers during last nlghl cut down the
feed wires , return wires and support wires
as far 'as Flatbu.h avenue , a distance 01 ,
over a mile. The feed wire on ' ruventietim I

sheet , between Seventh and Eighth avenues ,
was also destroyed. The wires at FIfteenth
streel and Second avenue were cut down
early In the morning A number of trolley
cars stood at Ninth avenue , which were
wrecked and rendered unfl for use.
_ ALMOST DUnNED OUT A DYNAMO.
The most serious. attempt to prevent the
running of cars over the Third avenue line
was made nt Sixty-ffh street and Third
avenue , where a plot to burn out the d-
nnmos In the depol was nearly successful.
I was evidently the work of skied elec-
trlcians ' The wires were cut and guy ropes :
were attached to them , by which they were :
drawn down and grQunied on the posts of
the elevated road. The scheme was : how-
ever , discovered In lQle to frustrate the
plnn.
The line men on the Atlantic avenue road
struek. This aet and the lack of passengers
prevented the management from running
the Se\enth anti Ninth avenues and Ee\enth
street cars at all today. Militia In the
various dellots expressed themselves as
fairly well satisfied with their trentment , but
cit appeared desirous that the strIke should
soon termlnnte and allow them to return
to their homes.
Al Fifteenth nnd Thirtieth avenues two
women haied a Fih avenue car. When It
stopped they boarded It. They then drew
pistols from their shawls and ordered tile
conductor anti motorman to stop worle. The
men leaped from the car and left the invaders -
vader In possession. One of the crowd then
started the car , jumping off before It gained
much hea < way. 'Vhen the car passed the
stables at Twenty-fourth street II was trav-
cling at a high rate of spee < . One of the
men standing there : otced the car was running -

President Norton says so far as time At-

places. There has , however , been some inconvenience -
convenience on the lines by time cuttIng ef
