to obtain work and that It was necessary
In order to keep his family from starving

sistance. his pitiful tory was usually be-

the goods the order called for ho would go to
so me saloon and sell them for whatcver he :
could get , and wIth the procccds . he would
buy liquor.

sioners and his old story had the desired
efect , and ho succeeded In getting flour ,
