At its regular meeting yesterday afternoon
the Board of County Commissioners authorized
and directed County Judge Baxter 10 at once
Institute such proceedings as In his judg-
ment may be deemed necessary to recover
from his predecessor , JUdge Eller , all money
collected and retained by the latter In his
olclal capacity. The acton of the board
was taken In accordance with a resolution
offered at the last meeting by Commlsloner
Jenkins . Accm'punylng the resolution was
a communication from Judge Baxter , In
which the latter stated that the opinion or
the county attorney had been given without
a personal examination of the records or the
ofllce. Judge Baxter urged immediate action.
The committee on finance , to which the resolutions -
lutions were referred , objected 10 the employ-
ment or special counsel to push the legal
proceedings ! against Judge Eller . The work
