Wheat was dull nnd lower today under discouraging cables , larger northwestern receipts and liquida tion , closing Tic lower for Mny. May corn closed ' ,4c lower , oats " /Ic lower nnd pro visions at slight advance * . Wheat ruled slow and featureless for the greater purl of the session. Northwestern receipts were again considerably larger than on the same day a year ago , and the re ports were of refreshing rains over a con siderable area In the southwest. The local receipts were also bearish , being 40 per cent larger than expected. The clearances from the seaboard were generous , but busi ness was so slack that It bad practically no effect nnd there was nn easy undertone. May sold at 59c , and from G9c to G9c , held steady for a time , but finally weakened to CSHc at noon. The market continued very weak during the last hour , nnd May closed nt D9c , Closing cables were all weak and longs got discouraged nnd liquidated freely. Corn was slow and steady until shortly before the closing , selling a fraction above nnd n fraction , below yesterday's close , but keeping nt near the closing llgure. The locnl receipts were somewhat larger than expected nnd Pnrdrldge sold heuvlly , but the offerings were readily absorbed and there was but little reduction. The esti mate for tomorrow Is small 03 cars but It did not help much. Mny sold ut from C0c to Bo-He. The weakness In wheat near the finish sent prices down and Mny closed at We. We.Business Business In oats was Inclined to be more nctlve , but prices declined In sympathy with the wenkntHS In corn. Selling was more general. May started steady at from 3274C to 32T4c , sold at 32e , nnd the close showed the market for May nt from 32 Vies to 325ic. Hog products were strong and high early on the fact that hog receipts were 13,0,0 head less than estimated and prices at the yards were decidedly higher. Shorts were good buyers , but there wns very little for sale. Trade.got very dull during the last hour , and prices went off on nil products. May poik , lard and ribs each closed ! ilr higher.
