CHICAGO , Nov. 2C. The Influences In the wheat market today were largely bullish und wound up firm at He advance. May corn gained lie , May oats UP , nnd provi sions closed with but slight changes. The opening of the wheat market found buyers anxiously bidding C8c , nnd from that up lo W.BC , with very few sellers below COc. It continued to edge up a trlllc more during the next halt hour , the price nbout 10 o'clock being from CS'Ac ' to 00r , but wiling ngalnsl calls nt 50'/4c ' nnd better Interfered nt that time with any further Improvement , The early news was bullish. The Liverpool market opened firm nt ' ,4d advance for American red winter nnd spring. Stocks nt that place showed another corntdcrablc reduction since Monday last. The amount of ocean passage was 528,000 bu. since n week ago , In the face of a heavy aggregate of shipments from exporting countries , and receipts nt Minneapolis nnd Otiluth were 1,016 cars , compared with 1,201 n year ago. Kvery Item In thc points enumerated was distinctly favorable to the bull side. The decrease for the week In the Liverpool stocks amounted to 2tilUW bu. The visible supply Increased 1,022,000 bit. , nnd weakened the mniket for n little while , but ns the Kngllsh vlslblu supply decreased 1,233,000 bu. the effect of tne Increase here was quickly overcome. After selling down to tlic on the domestic visible , It rose soon nfter 12 o'clock to CS'/feo on the English visi ble supply statement. Export clearances of wheat and Hour from Atlantic ports amounted to 370.0UO bu. Closing cables to the Hoard of Trade quoted Liverpool % d higher for American red winter. The market was strong at the finish at C0ic ! for May , The corn market was weak and lower on account of the. favorable dry weulher for new corn and Ihe heavy receipts. About thc middle of the session thc vlslblu supply was found Increased 1,075,000 bu. , thus adding to It In one week a quantity almost equal to the entire amount of Its previous bulk. The opening price for May was 48 c , nnd It sold from 48o to 4SJc ! about the same time. It dropped jrradually to 4Sc during thc fore noon , but revived later In thc day In sympa thy with the strength of the wheat mar ket. The Increasing strength of wheat at thc end of the session alarmed the shorts und finally caused an advance In May to from 48-ic ! to 48c , with 48ftc the closing quotation. The oats maiket opened a shade easier at from : ; 2iBc to 32'4c for May , touched 32'io nnd then , In sympathy with the corn market fell oft to 3ic : , where It was shortly before noon. Trading was confined almost en tirely ta scalpers. Toward the close the market firmed up a trifle and was more active. The rally In thc other cereals could bo credited to this slight advance. Mny sold at 32c , and closed with sellers at that price. The receipts of hogs very largely exceeded the estimates on Saturday , and In consequence quence of lliat the price of provisions fell off nt the opening. Local speculators were Inclined for the most part to the bull side. The strength of the wheat market was supporting feature of the surroundings and helped to a recovery of most of the early loss. At the finish January pork was 214c lower , lard 2&c higher nnd ribs 24c ! higher. A fair demand for vessels to load corn nnd oats for Uuffalo nt Ic for Huffalovltli charters fcr corn at that Ilgure.
