hogs nnd 938 sheep , as against -1,01)1 ) cat-
tip , 3,893 hogs and 1,1)12 ) sheep yesterday ,
ami 5,434 cattle , tiS75 liogn and 623 sheep on
Wednesday ot last week.
CATTLE There were some ptctty fairish
beef steers lierv , but nothing to compare with
the good cattle jesterday. A bunch of fnlr-
Ish corn fed natives went at $1,95. $ There
wore also some falrlsli westerns here , which
Eoltl right around } 3.fiO. The buyers starteil
out bidding about lOc lower DM everything
unless It might be on the best. Sellers
were rather slow to make any concession ,
nnd buyers claimed I hat they did not suc
ceed In getting them much lower.
There was a liberal supply of cows and
mixed butchers' stock In the yimls. The
market was rather alow , nnd lower except
on such cattle ns happened to especially fill
the requirements of the buyers. The de
mand for canners was quite good , nnd the
offerings In that line were pretty well

There were plenty of stocker s und feed
ers in the jards , In fact the -supply Is in
excess of the demand. The market on tills
class of cattle has experienced a heavy tle-
cllne since last week , and jestorrtay the
trade was Hat , the country demand being
very light. Today there were a few more

fresh arrivals found It no easy matter to
