Corn closed % c lower for May , but oats wound up with Mny HO higher , and provisions closed at alight ad vances , . Wheat opened f.m nt a slight advance upon jesterday'a closing price. The firmness vas probably due to tlie moderate receipts Iicre and tn the northwest and to the steadi ness of tlie cables.December started at 67&C , Ijiit was immediately attacked by some of Ihe most prominent traders , and It gradually iveak ned until ! ,4c had been rubbed oft Its cpentng values.
