Court Officer Wnlkcrof tlio police court thinks ho has discovered a baby farm In Omaha. The particular place that Mr. Walker complains iibout Is at HlTlIttruoy street and Is conducted by Stella Ltvcnnora , n middle aged woman who formerly was em ployed as housekeeper in a swell resort on Ninth street. In order to Investigate the mutter two men were sent to the house last night. The rooms occupied by the woman look rather poverty stricken , and the woman who claimed to run the place hud the same look. In a little front room containing two beds were three or four children , all being cared for , and to nil appearances well fed. In addressing the woman 0110 of the men saidWo : understand that you take care of young babies ? " "Yes , I do , " was the reply , and then the usual questions regarding sex , age and health followed. Then the converse lion grow conlhlentlal , und the woman was asked how much money she wanted to take a baby and dispose of It either by adoption or otherwise. "One hundred dollars1 was the prompt reply. Upon being Informed that the parents had no particular use for this particular baby the question was asked , ' -How much will you want to furnish us with a death cer tificate of this baby ? " I'rli-o of I'oaltlvo 1'rdof. "Well , for { SO or more ; for $150 the baby will he disposed of and bo dead as far as its parents are concerned. ' ' "We would prefer to know positively that the child Is dead , " said the spokesman. "Very well , " was the repiy , "I will furnish you with that evidence : " The oiler to pay all funeral expenses of the imaginary child was made and an arrange ment completed whereby part of the money was to bo paid when the baby was taken to the resort and the remainder when the death certificate was sent to a certain ad dress. "I have a baby here now which Is similar to your case , " said the woman. "I took it when it was one day old , and perhaps may have It adopted by somebody. 1 often find homes for babies left with me. " The talk about this "farm" was common about police headquarters yesterday , and if evidence enough to warrant a conviction can bo obtained the woman will be arrested.
