DniTiitCB , Neb. , Dec , 27. [ Special Telegram - gram to Tun Dnn. ] It was developed by the postmortem examination today In the case of Herman Thlessen , the recluse who was found dead In his house ono mlle cast ot Hills last Friday evening , that the bullet found In the deceased's hcait was a 22callbrojhito the empty pistol found discharged by his sldo was a 13- ! caliber. The coroner's jury this afternoon rendered a verdict In effect that Thlcsscn came to his death by means of a gunshot wound through the heart , tired by some persons unknown to the jury. The pre sumption la that Thlessen , who was of a morose and irritable temperament , became Incensed at some ono crossing his premises , or who had stopped there for a drink of watir , and engaged in a quairel w 1th him. This quarrel evidently took place at the well , for Thicssen had gone out to the well and had drawn a pall of water. Tills pail of water and his dipper wcro left nt the well and were thcto when his dead body was found in the house. Ho-was In the habit of alwa.\s locking tlio door of his house when ho wont out and locking himself in In this instance the door was found paitly open with the key on the outside. The inference Is that Thlcsson and his assailant had a tinaitcl at the well nnd that Thlessen was shot there and ran Into the house after his own weapon and dischaigcd it at his assailant and then fell dead.
