Then Mr. Lowry Informed the council that the Keteham Furnlturo company In vestigation was not In It when compared with what the committee had on Its hands , Ho said tbat some of the charge ) which a counclllhnu had withheld from the main body for moro than a year were the most dninunblo und tiocdcd n thorough Investiga tion. Ilo wns convinced that nil of tbo dirty work had came from ono member of the council. If tbo charges were true tbo committee proposed lo IInil thn guilty parties , but if they were not the committee proposed to nail tlio Informant to the cross. Air. Prinro raid that , Iho mayor bad thrown out insinuations against certain mem bers and tbat ho proposed lo proba them to tbo bottom. The charges were damnable in tbolr nature , but III boy were true ho did not propose to spare any ono ; but If they wrro not ho proposed to null the He so se curely that no member would again go about the streets calling his associates thieves and boodlors. Mr. McLcarlo said bo was heartily in favor of those sentiment . Ono thing that 1 want to say is that nil of this told about boodle starts from members of the council nnd If this body now flnds talk the charges nro untrue , I bopo tbat it will tnko steps to expose tbo member who has boon tbe mayor's informant. " Wants tlio Investigation to Ho Thorough. As a mnmber of the committee Mr. Prince eald that bo proposed to sift the matter from the npcx to the foundation of the city hall ; that It wns talked by certain members nnd by citizens , that as soon us a man was elected to the council ho was a target for all of the mud slingors. Ho hoped that the re sult of tbo present investigation would bring this matter to an end. Mr. Munro stated that bo favored giving Iho committed unlimited power , regardless of oxponso. Mr. Edwards wns of iho opinion that the committee should have power to not only Investigate the city hall matter , but all charges brought by councllmun. By resolu tion this power was-glvon the committee. The ordlnanco ordering the curbing of ( Twenty-second street from Loavouworth street to the south line of the government warehouse was read n third time ami passed. Messrs.
