an ocean steamship. Dr. Dlbbcrn's atoclc of
drugs and medicines , which is as complete
as most physicians , was arranged with the
neatness and olcganco of a Farnam street
drug store. In the barn everything was also
spiclt and span , and the seven mnirnitlcont
patrol horses had been proomed till their
coals were as glossy as silu and taolr manes
nnd tails had been dressed with the cure
most women bestow on their hair.
At 2 o'clock the line of policemen formed
on Jaakson street In platoons and a
finer looking body of men it would
bo bard to get together in Omaha
or anywhere else. They were dressed
in natty summer uniforms , white collars and
cuffs , arab helmets and very shiny buttons
and shoes. Their > vheallng , marching and
revolver drill was performed with tbo pre
cision of a crack military company. Two
mounted oftlcore rode In front of the ranks
and the patrol wagon , with Its glistening
brass rails and harness trimmings showlug
the good effect of Jim O'Brien's elbow
