Loomis of this city , general western manager of the AuUmixti & jl'avlor Machinery com. pany. The train" was In charge of Mr. Loomis nud was extensively adver tised along the entire route , and was greeted by largo and enthusiastic crowds of people. The train consisted of 32 cars , the cqntonts being valued at $90,000 , and was hauled over the Chicago cage , Rock Island it Pacific Ry. from Chicago by two of their heaviest en gines , and when It is considered that the weight of the train was 1,200 tons , some Idea of the work performed can bo obtained. One of the most interest ing features of this extraordinary ship ment was an engine and separator In full operation at the roar end of the train. The arrangement of the details wiw In the hands of Mr. Loomis , who has spent some weeks in perfecting the plans for hand ling tlu shipment , which is the largest single shipment of the kind over brought to the west. Tlio run from Mansfield was on a daylight Lchcdulo and short stops were made at all stations along the route to atTord the assembled multi tudes an opportunity of examining the train and witnessing the machinery In motion. It was a gala day In Iowa along the Rock Island road and at a number of towns business was suspended during the progress of the train , schools wore closed during the day and a regular out pouring of grown people and children welcomed the attractive oxhibion on wheels. The following olllcials of the Aultman-Taylor company wore with the train and thbir courtesy and intelli gence in explaining the operations of the machines was greatly appreciated by the visitors to the train. F. L. Loomis , general western manager , A. Kallmorton , secretary , and John Rey nolds , treasurer ; also Mr. F , M. Loomis and various olllcials of the Rock Island road in the operating and freight de partments. The train was Inspected by a largo number of people at Council BlulTs yesterday morning , and reached Omaha at 9:30 : a. in. , as per schedule. The Aultman it Taylor Machinery com pany are noted for their train-load ship ments throughout the United States and Mexico , but It is stifo to say that the shipment in question , which was brought about by the indefatigable energy and enterprise of tholr western manager , Is away ahead of all former otTorts.
