ent to be no disposition to enter Into any ven

terday's movement and frequent loshos wore
the result , although only among a few stoi-ks

The rate of the Hank of England remained
unchanged this morning ; and the best ob
servers proclaim that there Is no Indication of
further shipment gf gold this week ,
but the traders thought they de
tected soiling of Louisville and Nash
ville for foreign account and they
attacked that stoeit with homo od'e'-'t. The
gr.msers caiiiu In for some of the same kind of
attention , and especially St. Paul und Hur-
llngton were weakened under thn pressure.
Tlio romalmlcrof the market was , as a rule ,
ilovold of feature from opening to close ,
though Jersey Central lost u portion of Its

Traders who are In complete possession of
the market , such as It is. lifter bolng scared
Into covering their shorts , have discovered
that the expected demand for stocks has not
materialized , and are again encouraged to
put out the stocks so lately covered ,

The opening was heavy and extremely
dull and under the pressure brought to boar

declining tendency was unrelieved by any
