The crow of c schooner which has arrived here from New Xoaland toll a story ot the terrible sufferings of the ciow of the bark Compredo , bound from Calcutta for Chili. It appears from these sailors' accounts that the Compiedc caught lire at .sea and that her captain made for Bluff Harbor , province of Otago , Now Zealand , on Foveaux straight , Before fore the bark reached Bluff Harbor she was ovei taken by a fearful hurricane , during which the sea swept over her and cleared her decks of everything which it was possible to wash aw ay. The Compredo was eventually so storm stricken that she became water logged and began to sink. In this helpless condition the Compredo drove upou a ndgoof rocks off the Auckland islands. Her crow managed to swim ashore and there they remained for 103 days , sufforiuir terrible privations and being reduced to a state bor dering upon starvation. While hunting for food one of the unfortunate seaman was lost in the bush and is supposed to have starved to death. Tno Comprodo's cro\v was rescued at the end of the KM days by a sealing ves sel.
