Like wildfire and thousands who stood in front of this great establishment and wit
nessed the fire appeared to be amazed and dumfounded when they saw1 ; thous
ands of dollars worth of merchandise being destroyed.

When the wreck was cleared away it was discovered that about $7,500 worth of fur
niture etc. , was a total loss , > which the insurance companies were compelled
to take and a greater portion of this was taken to the dump.
