The broad hallway , into which the drawing rooms , the library and the dining room open , was niado n 11 oral honor In its wealth of reset , lillics , narcissi nnd hyacinths , the ( lowers which represent the snrlngtlnio. At the fiuthor enu of the hull way the massive oak hull trcow almost buried bo- ncath a bank of llowcrshllu Ginilax dambercd over it and around it , making a beautiful picture under the gleaming ga * lights and mjrladof w.ixcn tapers. The west drn ing room showed Iho touch of the llodst on the nmntlopicco and chandliorsliilo n bnuilllnl nortioro of green .separated the draw ing room from the dining room. It was hero tbat the taste of gcntlo women ahownd best In tlio decorations of the room , the enscmblo being perfect. I'lnU was the color In vogue , and nothing half so pretty has been seen In an Omaha homo tint season , The chandeliers worn shaded with pink surah , the ilowcrs being pink roses banked on the iimntlcpleca sideboard and in the deep bay window. The table had for a covering n beautifully wrought pink surah and for its center nlnco a huoo rose bowl crowded with ro'ics. Maiden hair fern hordeied the table and g.i\o it a dainty touch of green. The ceremony was performed in the cast drawing room , the largo bay window being tempoiurily converted into an altar , oxquis- itly decorated. A graceful portiere of snil- lax fell on cither side of the window from its center , a rose hero and thcro fastened to give it n moro attractive appearance. Suspended from the center of the window was a large number of roses , while at its base lilies , hyacinths and other llowcrs wcro beautifully arranged. In front of this altar of flowers the prldleu was placed , covcied by an exquisite - quisito wintering. Shortly after the hour named in the In vitations the wedding party onteicd the loom , the orchestra stationed In the hallway playing the wedding march from "Lohen grin. The \Voolloy Investigating committee of the board of cilucntbn held nnotbcr star clmrabcf sosslon nt the board rooms yesterday morning. Itns Superintendent Woolloy's ' day nnd hovni given an opportunity to introduce testimony on hUsida of thocaso. Five witnesses wcro introduced. S. O. ilnll , a contractor of ninny years' ' experience , tottltlcd thst ho had inndo an o.xaniliintioti of tiiobulldltif ; nnd would unduituko to dupli cate tliGbulUHniMiot including the foundation , for $1 , . ' ! , > . The foundation would cost nhout $ IW ! more. Tliesn inures , ho adtnlttod , In cluded a prollt of 10 per cent. This would ma/co / Hull's tlmircs about $1. > 0 more than Hart's. includlne the foundation. ivosiorsvas \ caueu to the painting. Ho estimated the nuinbor of yards to bo covered at about double the number llRUrcd by Unit , nmklnp u dilTeircnco of about fit ) . Ernest btuht wn < 3 called to testify ns to the ditTorciico In the price of adamant wall plns- tcr as compared with ordinary plaster. Ho stated that the former cost S cents per yard moio than the latter , put on the wall. Hart's llKiircs were - cents rnoro for adamant than common plaster. Mr , Htuht also tostillcd Unit work done by the day ahvnjucost from 20 to-40 per cent moio than when done by contract , but was better work. Ho Illus trated his point by several instances In Ills own experience. John Hoyc , the contractor who built the foundation and chimneys for the building' , testified that the chimneys wore built from tlio ground and wcro worth all that wiw charged for them. All the brickwork , ho said , was reasonably worth all that was charged In the bills. This completed the testimony regarding the Davenport building. Sifted down , the evidence shows that the flcuros given by the contractors who appeared before the commit tee are substantially the same , on the ma terial , as those lu the hills p.iid by the board , the main difference being In th'o price paid forliibor. which amounts to about ? I50. The iiHostigatlng cotnmlttoo met again at 3 j > . in. anil listened to evidence from .Miss Wliltmoro , Mr. Martin and Mr. Conoycr. The particular point whk-ti the board wished " to huvo clearly established bj Mlbs "U'hltmoro's ' testimony was the fact that Air. Vooloy had not told the truth with regard to putting up the storm windows on the Lake school. Mr. Wooley stated that ho had gene to the Lake school a few days after March 2. when ho reported the work dono. Ho simply dated his icport ahead , ho said , nnd tie went to the Lake school to put the windows up , but was In formed by sonic ono there that the windows wcro not wanted up. Miss Whitiuoro stated that Mr. Wooley aid not appear nt the Lake school fortho purpose- of putting up the windows , as ordered , until March IDor 17 , aud after thomuttor had been referred to in Tin : BEE as a part of the board of education proceedings. Mr. "VVooloy finally admitted that ho was mistaken about the date of his visit to the l.aUo school. Ho also admitted that he had made a mistake In sajlng that ho had been to sco Mr. Martin about the Furnam school blinds on a certain dato. In short Mr. \Vonloy was considerably mijiCd up lu his testimony. bporihitig of the matter a member of the commlttuo said to a reporter for Tun Bur : "Tho fucts nro Jmt about these : The Davenport school building cost us about $300 moro tlinn Mr. U'ooloy's ' own witnesses said it should have cost. "In the case of tno Cuss school floor , Mr. Wooley's Inofllcienry assumes another form. Wo paid for first class yellow pine , but wo got a very inferior quality of lumber , and Mr , Wooloy saw it when the work \vus goin , ; on. Ho said ho visited the hnihllnrr ivlinn momentum oepun touiy tne uoor , ana saw that thcro wcro sonio soppv boards In the lumber being used. Ho ordered tlio men to throw all such boards out , ho said , but the fact romaln.s that I hero arc inoro b.id boards in that poition of the lloor which was laid alter Air.Voolov visited the building than in that which was laia before ho gave the order to throw out the sappy lumber. "His statements regarding the Lake school storm windows have been positively contra dicted , and ho has admitted the Inaccuracy of some of his own .statements. " \Vo \ nro persuaded by theo and a great many other shortcomings that Mr , Wooley Is grossly negligent and careless about his work. Tnoro are a thousand and ono loop holes through uhich the public funds may bo squandered by this kind of carelessness , and trto board of education cannot affoid to employ a man who dlsplajs incomuotcncy and negllgeiRO to the detriment of our schools and at the expense of the taxpayers. "Mr. Wooloy Is making another mistake , ilo is calling upon his political friends to rally to his rescue. They are laboring with members of the board , trying to got them to promise to stand by Mr. U'ooloy , I know several mem ben of the board who cannot bo irwcd by that sort of influence. Mr. Wooley should lei his work speak for him , In stead of his political friends , for it is my opinion that ha will have to depend on something uettcr than political Influence if ho expects to bo retained as sunerindeut of buildings. " Tlio committee will meet Siturday morning to sum up the oriduiu'O for and against and agrca upon a report to bo submitted to the board. In all probability tno report will bo adverse to Mr. U'oolcy.
