n solid plcco of stone which was nt first sun-
posed to ho n mummy. All the wrinkles ,
muscles and ligaments weio plainly trace-
nblo. The body represents n short , thick-set
man , witn traces of hoard and hair. The
features somewhat resemble these of an
Indian , with flat nose nnd largemouth
mouth , but the shnpo of the bead
would indicate moro Intelligence. The
nuns nnd Iocs are short In proportion to
the trunk. The eyes are closed and the
hands nro ling against the chest. The nip-
pie and ribs are distinct. The body with the
feet broken off is a little ever three foot In
length aud weighs about 200 pounds. The
Imago Is said to hnvo boon taken to the spot
for the pin pose of being found It Is now
said that It was hauled by an oxprcssmui
from the Southern Pacific depot to the bank
of the river. Experts pronounce It nn Imago
carved from stone , but Its resembnnco to a
corpse is so striking as to causa much inter

have good counsel to aid the prosecuting at

the arrest of Sheriff George \V Dunstor on
the charge of being Intoxicatnd to such an
extent as to unlit him for the discharge of
