An error In yesterday's HUE caused n " wrong statement to bo "mailo with regard to the character of Mrs. Woodward , In connection with the Woodward-Headi cabo which lias been on trial In district court during the past week. Mrs. Woodward has had nothing to do with thocaso whatever , nnd the item should Imvo referred to Mrs. } ) cauh. The testimony which was Intro duced on rebuttal tended to show that old man Woodward was not so fearful of his children as tlio witnesses on the other siao stated. A Model Denial Ollluc. The llnest suite of rooms in all respects , not only in Council Diuffs but In the entire state , are these occupied by the Drs. Wooduury , the leading dentists in this western country. The rooms comprise the entire second floor of the elegant now Woodbury block adjoin ing the now ( Jruiul hotel on Pearl street. The building Itself with its magnificently carved brown stouo front Is the handsomest in thii city and was erectedby Dr. 1C. L. Woodbury , who Is ono of the oldest practitioners In the state , and ono of the most honored citizens In Council Bluffs. The woodwork In the entire building Is qunrtcr- sawed oak , highly polished. From the en trance on Pearl street a broad stairway of easy ascent lends to the reception rooms , which open from a commodious hall. Tbo moment you open the door and before your * foot has pressed tbo neuvy Wilton carpets the soft tlnklo of an oloctrlo boll announces your arrival. The reception rooms comprise double parlors , separated by a lull archway hung with elegant draperies and lighted with plato glass windows. The carpets are the heaviest quality Axmlnstor and Wiltons , mid the wall decorations match the furnish ings in tone ai < d character. The furnishings are rich and chaste. Adjoining the back par lor is a ladles' dressing room thoroughly ap pointed. But It Is hi tbo operating rooms that the visitor receives the final nnd convincing proofs that ho Is In tno llnest and most com plete dental establishment west of Chicago. The apartments are lighted by full length windows and skylights , and are as pleasant us a conservatory. The operating chairs are secluded from each other by a paneled oak partition , the upper part of which Is pan eled with chipped glass. This permits the light tosblno through and yet gives absolute privacy. These rooms an ) lilted up with all tlio approved modern appliances known to the profession. In an upartmout shut off from nil the others are the dental appliances for extracting tooth , and If a nervous Indi vidual emits an uncontrolublo yowl as hopiirts with n sensitive tooth , tbo lady who is in one of the other rooms undergoing a delicate operation la dental surgery docs not hear It. Adjoining this is tbo laboratory , where tlio mechanical part of thu work is done. Hero are 1'ouml the many appliances used In the manufacture of crown and bridge work , this being a special feature of tbelr practice , The electrical appliances nro also hen1 , mid they are quite an Impor tant factor In lessening the labor of the vari ous dental operations. It would require a column to describe the apartments comprehensively , but enough has been snld to support the assertion that these dental rooms mo not equalled In beauty , com pleteness nnd convenience by any in the west. Jental surgery has madu great progress hi the last few years , but the Drs. Woodbury have kept pace with the times and accom plish ovciythlng the science is capable of. Tbo people of Council Bluffs , Omaha and adjoining towns will take a deep Interest in this elegant establishment , and many vislu will bo mailo to admire the beautiful and complete apartments. Several dnys ago mention was made In thuso column ! ) of n rcploven suit in which the architectural firm of F. M. Hills k Co. was the plaintiff and W. S. I3ut Ellis , for some reason or other , wns very anxious to get the plans and over since that tlmo ho has been en gaged in crneeding n scheme , with the aid of his attorney , I * . E. Seabrook , whereby the pluns could bo recovered. A second mid moro Interesting "chapter in this story was written yesterday afternoon In the law ofllco of Mr. Mayno. The plan which was laid by Seabrook nnd Bills wna this : The plans were to bo ap praised by A. L llend ricks and P. Swnnson. A second writ of replevin was Issued and held In readiness , so ns to bo served on the appraisers as soon ns they should gut them In their hands. Mr Ilcndrleks was sitting in Mnync's ofllco looking at the plans , ready to do f bo work which had lieen assigned him , when the door suddenly opened and Con stable lien Austin walked hi , accompanied by Seaurook , Tlio officer nt once began to rend the writ to Hendricks , wlillo Seabrook stood In the background nnd ex horted him to do his duty. Hoforo Austin could get hold of the papers , ticorgo Mayno Jumped up and thrust himself between the constable mid Ilcndrlrks , at the same time calling to Ids father to scizo the papers and put them In tbo safe. This Mayno , sr. , at once proceeded to do. For n few seconds things were very lively In thatofllce. It took some llttlo time to got the safe unlocked , put the panel's in it ami lock the safe airaln , and In the meantime It was a rough and tumble between tbo twoMaynesnnd the officer tosco which should got the papers , Finally they were safelv under lock and key , and Ellis wns thwarted , Seabrook claims that that the law gavebim the authority to take tbo papers out of the hands of the appraisers , for bo had been in Justice Vntton's court u few minutes before , and dismissed th-3 replevin suit which was in- tllutnd n few days ago , so that the delivery end which Mayno had given for the papers vns null and void , nnd they were thcro- ere held wrongfully. The outcome of his cbeino was somewhat of a sui-pi-lso to him , mt ho docs not consider himself completely utof the ring yot. Ho had two Informa- ions Issued In Justice Patton's cmirt lust veiling , charging W. S. Mayno and George 1. Mayno with resisting nu onleorln tbudis- hnrge' bis official duty. The case Is becoming decidedly Interesting nd many are wondcr'ng ' Just what the nut * omo will be. If Ellis succeeds In getting he plans , the work on the church will have o bo stopped at once until other plnns can bo Irnwn. Ellis knows this , and he thinks it vill bo H good way to get bnck at them for citing him out In the middle of his work. \iinivcrHnry Snlo at ihcj ISoNton Store .lust two years ago Saturday Inco the Joston Store , Courcll Bluffs , opened its leers to tbo public. Metorologioally it was a villainous day , but the bad , disngrccahlo weather mndo the people ple that much more anxious to obtain the means of making themselves comfortable. Before the hour for opening arrived the people gathered around the doors nnd stood patiently waiting in the snow and rain. When tbo sale began tbo store was quickly filled and It was necessary to lock the doors before the first half hour hud passed to prevent the Jam becoming too dense to uo business and permit the clerks waiting upon the customers. There was not a moment in the day when it was found possible to relax this precaution , The doorkeepers would unlock tbo doors long enough to lot out a portion of the multitude that had been sup plied and let m tbo others who wore hungry for the bargains that everybody was carrying away. It is ccrtaicly safe to say that never in the history of Council Bluffs was there such a day's business transacted. There was no word of complaint from any customer unluss it arose from tbo fact all could not bo waited upon at once.
