viously prevailing. About the only noticeable
feature of the day's trading was the frco

pushed down a further notch or two at onetime
time showing J o docllno. Receipts were
largo , materially exceeding the estimate.

long oats were free sellers nnd thcro was
llttlo demand aside from that to cover shorts.
A largo business was dona lu May at a
range of 21 @ 21J c , with this month going
below the i o mnrK and December touching
lBC'$18a. Nothing of consequence
was reported as withdrawn from store , and ,
while local stocks wcro last week decreased
about 100,000 uusholo , the visible supply
showed a fair Increase of 03.30-3 bushels.
Noi 3 to go to store sold at 1717 , ' c , or the
.lowest point yet reached , and No. 3 whlto
for May delivery went nt 23o.
The speculative market for provisions was
profoundly dull to day , but llttlo interest be
ing-shown In the deal oven by local profes
sionals. As on Saturday , wheat had moro
attraction for room traders than anything
else. The pork pit was practically aban
doned , nnd on the morning call not a trade
was made. In view of the depressing pur-
roundliiKs larger receipts of hogs
than expected and lower prices for
raw materials , together with the
further break on the grain list prices for
the product exhibited u surprising steadi
ness. Lard was , In fact , stronger and higher
for tbo near deliveries , soiling up to $0 30 , or
7 ! o above Saturday's cloning ilgures. At
the stock yards there were 0,000 moro hogs
than expected and at the six principal packIng -
Ing points the arrivals aggregated 41,000
head , ngalnst 29,000 , head for the correspond
ing day last your. Live hogs were 5@10o
lower. A few trades were made in October
pork at $10.95@11.00 and the market closed ift
(11.00 , the same as Saturday. January pork

eased oft to $9.45. Judge Qresham refused to
grant ) ( ho injunction asked for In the Sawyer-
Wallace pork deal this morning and tha case
was dismissed. Tha decision had no percepti
ble affect on the market. Thcro was a mod
erate shipping demand for both lard and
meats , but only a limited business was made
public , most of the transactions reported being -
